Skin Care Routine

How to build a skin care routine?

The goal of any skin care routine is to tune up your complexion, so it’s functioning at its best unaltered or target any areas you want to work on. “Beauty routines are an opportunity to notice changes within yourself.” As your skin needs shift with age, so should your products. Finding a good skincare product can literally be life changing experience.

With so many skincare products in the market, choosing the right combination might seem overwhelming, but creating a skin care routine can be fun!!

To make sure that the routine works, you should first consider what type of skin you have.

Things to Consider:

Whether you want simple three step routine for the morning or you have time for a full 10 step regimen at night, the order you apply your product matters!

Do you know Why?  Because there isn’t much point in having a skincare routine if your product doesn’t get penetrated into your skin!

Setting up a Basic Routine:

3 step routine:

  • Cleansing – washing your face.
  • Toning – balancing the skin pH.
  • Moisturizing – hydrating and softening the skin.

CLEANSING:

Washing your face is the most essential step of any routine. Our skin comes in contact with environmental pollutants, dirt and other factors each day that should be removed gently. Wash twice a day, morning and night, to avoid clogged pores and acne. Exfoliating scrubs can be used once a week and avoid scrubs with abrasive ingredients.

TONING:

Toning should be done after cleansing and before putting anything else. A soaked cotton pad sweeping across the skin

helps to remove excess oils and dead skin cells. It’s great to refresh skin.

SERUM & BOOSTER:

If your skin is feeling dehydrated and lacking in radiance, a good serum and booster help in bringing back the lost radiance.

MOISTURISER:

Moisturizing is the super important finisher in daily skincare routine. It will protect your skin from losing moisture. An over moisturized skin is a myth, and no matter what you do, never skip out on using moisturizer at least twice a day.

Depending on the availability of time you can choose your skincare routine.

Skin Awareness

There are many signs of aging and the formation of wrinkles is just one, others are

  1. Pigmentation
  2. Broken blood vessels
  3. Thinning of the skin
  4. Enlarged pores
  5. Loss of firmness & tone

The formation of wrinkles is not only a result of oil production, it is also because of the breakdown, loss of collagen & elastin fibres which are responsible for providing support and structure to the skin.

Oil provides moisture and a plump look to the skin, whereas with dry skin, you may appear to have more wrinkles. Normal & Combination skin types fall somewhere between the two.

Our skin is truly an amazing organ! Believe” It is your responsibility to take care of your skin!!”

Treat it with respect, thank it & love it. Remember it is not only what you apply on your skin matters, your lifestyle as a whole matters too!

Eat healthy; drink plenty of water, get adequate sleep, exercise and choose the right skincare product.
